Iran to start Iranian enrichment up to 60% E3 statement Statement from the governments of France, Germany, and the UK:The governments of France, Germany and the United Kingdom (the E3) note with grave concern the announcement by Iran that it will start uranium enrichment up to 60% using advanced centrifuges as Iran communicated to the IAEA on 13 April. This is a serious development since the production of highly enriched uranium constitutes an important step in the production of a nuclear weapon. Iran has no credible civilian need for enrichment at this level. We also express our concern at the news that Iran plans to install 1000 additional centrifuges at Natanz, which will significantly increase Iran’s enrichment capacity.Iran’s announcements are particularly regrettable given they come at a time when all JCPoA participants and the United States have started substantive discussions, with the objective of finding a rapid diplomatic solution to revitalize and restore the JCPoA. Iran’s dangerous recent communication is contrary to the constructive spirit and good faith of these discussions. In light of recent developments, we reject all escalatory measures by any actor and call upon Iran not to further complicate the diplomatic process. /Public Release. If you drive in any type of traffic – or own an older vehicle – you’ve heard the noise caused by a leaking or broken automotive exhaust system It’s unmistakable, but other than annoying your neighbours, other drivers or pedestrians, what’s the harm with a little loud exhaust? After all, some automotive enthusiasts love to swap out original equipment exhaust systems to give them a little more growl when they punch the gas. And even automakers get in on the game, spending a lot of money and engineering resources to give their products a signature voice. But if your normally sedate-sounding sedan has suddenly developed an exhaust roar, you have several reasons to get things quieted down.Safety first: If a vehicle’s exhaust system is leaking anywhere but from the tailpipe, there’s a good chance fumes may seep into the passenger compartment. The farther forward towards the engine a leak is, the more chances it can let harmful emissions into the closed spaces of the cabin. For example, exhaust leaks at or near the engine from failed manifolds or gaskets can let fumes enter through the HVAC’s fresh-air intake system. And usually by the time an average exhaust system has failed from corrosion – its number one killer – it’s likely a few body panels and seams may have suffered from the same ravages of rust, leading to more places where exhaust fumes can get into the cabin.Road contact: Exhaust systems are well secured to the undercarriage of a vehicle by means of several flexible hanger mechanisms, appropriately spaced from front to rear. If a pipe fails at certain points, it can cause the pipe or resonator or muffler component on either side of the break to hang low and contact the road surface when travelling over bumps. Hit a bump at the right speed on the right road surface, and instead of scraping, the pipe can dig in – causing other damage under the vehicle. It may simply dent the floor pan, but could also easily damage a fuel or brake line or gas tank. advertisement Engine damage: Few drivers ever consider that an exhaust system does more than just help control emissions and keep engine noise down to a dull roar; it also controls the speed at which exhaust gases leave the engine. When a break occurs, this velocity can increase, leading to higher temperatures and lower back pressure at the exhaust valves in the cylinder heads. Leave a condition like this untreated long enough and permanent damage can occur to some exhaust valves and their seats in the cylinder heads, leading to a much more expensive repair than simply replacing a pipe or muffler. The same can be said of specially designed aftermarket exhaust systems, but those suppliers will issue suitable warnings with their products, and those who use these systems often know what they’re getting into. Shop around: There are supplier choices for most vehicle exhaust replacement components, and the price differences between some can be astounding. Most original automaker-supplied parts contain several components such as pipes, resonators and mufflers, welded together in longer sections. Many aftermarket companies such as Walker will provide options to purchase and replace only the section your vehicle needs.

Hilma Tate, told JIS News yesterday (June 10) that 55 shelters have been inspected so far, and more than 40 of them have been deemed fit and ready.“We are continuing our efforts to upgrade the remaining shelters and are continuing training sessions for all shelter managers,” she informed. The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has put arrangements in place for the supply of food and comfort items to shelters, while the Jamaica Red Cross and the Salvation Army stand ready to offer assistance.Turning to other preparedness activities, Rev. Tate told JIS News that the Parish Disaster Plan has been revised, with the lists of emergency contacts, heavy equipment owners and shelter managers updated.Fire and earthquake drills are continuing at schools, hospitals, infirmaries and businesses across the parish, while a map highlighting shelters and flood-prone areas, has been developed. In addition, major drain cleaning works were undertaken in Savanna-la-Mar and adjoining areas last month in collaboration with the Frome Sugar Factory and a number of non-governmental groups. Frome made heavy-duty equipment available to clear a number of critical channels, which run along Great George Street in the parish capital.Rev. Tate thanked the various groups and organisations, which participated in the month-long clean-up activity.“With this kind assistance. a number of our major and critical drains have so far been cleaned. The Stony Bridge and Ricketts Avenue drains, among many others, have been extensively cleaned,” she told JIS News. She said that once the drains remain clear, there should be very little chance of flooding in parish capital.Meanwhile, Mayor of Savanna-la-Mar and Chairman of the Westmoreland Parish Council, Bertel Moore, is advising all citizens living in flood-prone areas, to move to higher ground without hesitation, in the event of a hurricane.“As soon as you hear the hurricane warning, move to higher ground quickly and head for the nearest shelter. I would also like to advise those moving to shelters to try and take some food stuff with you, even for the first day,” Mayor Moore told JIS News. Sometime Monday or perhaps Tuesday, Utah’s Tony Finau should find out if he will be a member of the United States Ryder Cup team.U.S. captain Jim Furyk was scheduled to make his final pick for the Ryder Cup team known at 7 a.m. MDT Monday, but because of the weather delay in the BMW Championship in Philadelphia Sunday, the announcement will come at the conclusion of the tournament. That could be Monday afternoon or even Tuesday if there are more weather delays Monday.By all indications, the 12th and final pick for the U.S. team will be Finau. Several publications have said that Finau should “absolutely” be the final pick for the Ryder Cup team, which will play the European team Sept. 28-30 at Le Golf National in France because of his strong play this year, particularly lately.Furyk named his first three captains pick last week — Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau. Finau played well in the first two playoff events, finishing second at the Northern Trust Tournament and tying for fourth last week in the Dell Technologies event in Boston. The other main contender for the final spot, Xander Schauffele, led after two rounds in Philadelphia and is tied for second place after three rounds, behind Justin Rose. If he ends up winning, Furyk could be persuaded to take him as the hottest American golfer for the Ryder Cup team. However, even Shauffele conceded that outside of a victory by him, Finau should be the choice. Midway through the tournament in Philadelphia he said, “I feel like if I were Jim right now, I would pick (Finau), to be completely honest. I’m in a position where I feel like a win is the only way I’d even be in consideration. Tony, obviously, is the guy right now.”Finau stands in a tie for 15th place in the BMW tournament and is scheduled to tee off at 6:30 a.m. local time on Monday. This year, Finau has a better overall record than Schauffele with 10 top-10s, including three at majors. The 24-year-old Schauffele has just six top-10s, but did have top-6 finishes at The Players, U.S. Open and British Open, where he tied for second. The eight U.S. players who qualified on Ryder Cup points are Rickie Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed, Webb Simpson, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas and Bubba Watson.

A fun day of soccer is planned to remember Kerry Dyck. The Kerry Dyck Memorial Thanksgiving Soccer Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 6 at Lakeside fields. The format of the tournament is strictly fun. People interested in playing can simply register and pay online. Once registered the players will be selected onto random teams. “We held the tournament last year to raise money to help Kerry with his treatment,” said Nelson Soccer Association chair, Chuck Bennett. “It was a lot of fun. Most of us knew at the time that Kerry probably wouldn’t beat his cancer and I think it was a way for us to come together as a soccer community to spend time with a person who meant a lot to all of us as individuals and a sport community. It was a special day.”Dyck passed away in January of this year and as a way of celebrating his contribution to the association, NSA decided it would start a bursary at L.V. Rogers in Kerry’s name.“We are using the funds from this tournament to fund that bursary,” added Bennett. The cost to participate is only $20 and it is open to male and female players, 17 or older and of all skill levels. Also, for those who don’t want to play soccer, but still want to participate, Jackson’s Hole has come on as a sponsor and there will be a fun night of prizes and draws following the tournament at the restaurant. The Vancouver Whitecaps have generously donated a signed jersey and four games tickets, while Nelson Brewery has donated a brewery tour and appy event for 10 people.“We are going to do both draws and a small live auction,” said Bennett. “It should be a lot of fun. I also think it will be a time when we remember and celebrate Kerry.”To register visit www.nys.ca.

Messi: Ajax pair De Ligt and De Jong could handle Barcelonaby Carlos Volcano10 months agoSend to a friendShare the loveBarcelona ace Leo Messi is backing their move for Ajax pair Mattihjs De Ligt and Frenkie De Jong.Messi, who spoke to Marca, highlighted the level of both. “They come from a school very similar to our own. There they work in practically the same way. They play like us, having the ball, possession, good feet, they are young players with a lot of precision. Two very good players,” said Messi. The Barca forward also said the club should keep betting on their youth academy, La Masia. “It’s important to go back to betting on the boys from the youth academy, giving them a chance. They need to see it’s not impossible to climb and reach the first team. I think that in the future Barca can play with 11 homegrown players because we have a great youth academy, but it will take its time.” TagsTransfersAbout the authorCarlos VolcanoShare the loveHave your say
